GSMCloud Account Setup

In this section, we will help you get started with creating your account and linking your payment card.

Create account

  1. Go to gsmcloud
  2. Press “Register” at the top right. Now we need to fill out our registration form: First Name: To be filled in with first name. Last Name: Fill in with last name.

Payment card registration

For GSMCLOUD to function optimally, a payment card must be linked. As standard, there is a 30-day trial period in which you can test your device and your flow. However, it is not possible to use charged services such as SMS and calls.
  1. Tap the profile icon in the top right.
  2. Tap profiles.
  3. Go to the navigation bar on the left and select billing.
  4. Press “Add payment method”.
  5. Fill in “Card Holder Name” with the name that appears on the payment card.
  6. Fill in the card number with the card number which is typically located on the front of the payment card.
  7. Fill in the expiration date which you typically find on the front of the payment card.
  8. Fill in the CVC, typically 3 digits located on the back of the card.

Create Device

Let us connect your device to GSMCLOUD – All devices purchased for GSMCLOUD come with a SIM card and are ready to use. You do not need to do any setup of the device other than our cloud and the physical connection.

  1. Go to “Devices” in the top bar.
  2. Tap “New Device” in the right corner.
  3. In the name field, fill in the desired name for the device.
  4. In the IMEI field, enter the IMEI number that you find on the side of the device.
    On some devices there will be ports that can be named and set up once the IMEI number is entered, while on others ports can only be configured after setup.
  5. Press “Save”

 

The device is now created.

If you wish to name the different ports, this can now be done by pressing  Edit to the right of the device.

Now go down to ports and name the different inputs in the Label field.

Modbus

Press Add Slave.

  1. Enter the desired name for the slave in the “Device Name” field.
  2. Enter the slave's ID number in the “Slave ID” field.

    Note: Since there can only be one slave per ID and our Modbus master cannot change the slave ID, you must change it physically on the device with dipswitches. If this is not possible, the device must be connected to a computer with the included software. (Unfortunately, we cannot help with this unless the device was purchased from GSMCLOUD or GSM Teknik).

 

  1. Press Add Port.
  2. Now the different names, addresses and types must be selected. We recommend that you look at the manual for your Modbus device to create your slaves correctly.

    If your device sends information, select “Input”, if the Modbus master is to send data to your Modbus device, select “Output”.

    Difference between boolean and analog:

    Boolean is selected if the slave gives a true/false or 0/1.

    Value is selected if the slave outputs a value.

Connecting Accessories (GC - 1001)

Our 1001 has a digital input that can be connected with potential-free equipment. As it only has 2 terminals, the equipment cannot be reversed.

It is important that no voltage is applied to the input, as it itself creates a circuit that is used to measure the input!
